A Night Out With… RORY BREMNER

In conversation with Tommy Pearson

Rory Bremner is one of the UK’s finest impressionists and satirical comedians, “a one-man opposition party” (Daily Telegraph). As a mimic, he has provided definitive impressions of prime ministers and presidents, from Major to Brown, Clinton to Cameron, Bush to Trump. Rory has also been a presenter, writer, quiz-show host, translator and not-entirely successful ballroom dancer (Strictly Come Dancing, 2011).

Rory has been a regular on TV for 35 years, including RORY BREMNER, WHO ELSE?, BREMNER, BIRD & FORTUNE (winner of 3 BAFTAS), many satirical specials, MOCK THE WEEK, HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU, SPITTING IMAGE, THE IMITATION GAME and many more. He has written columns for the FT, New Statesman and Daily Telegraph.

In his spare time, Rory translates operas and plays from French and German, including Carmen, Orpheus in the Underworld and The Seven Deadly Sins.

In this exclusive event, Rory Bremner talks about his incredibly varied career: as impressionist, satirist, writer and what motivates his comedy and political bite. And how his impression of John Major was so realistic he inadvertently thwarted a revolt of Tory MPs against him!

There will also be an opportunity for the audience to put questions to Rory direct.

‘A Night Out With…’ is a brand new series of interviews with legendary figures in comedy and broadcasting, exclusively at the Eric Morecambe Centre, Harpenden.
